Cute Story.....
Here's a cute story and photo the school shared in Grace's communication notebook today:
Today during OT, Connie asked Grace what her parents names are. She said, "Paula and Daddy."
When Connie said, "What does Paula call your Dad?", she said, "Honey!"
This is so cute! When I was growing up, I thought my mother's name was Honey. My father literally NEVER called her Paula (her name too!) ever - I mean I still have never heard him call her by her name in my presence!
When I was about 4, I remember asking my mom what her name was. She answered, "Jane". Then it dawned on me - THAT's who "Jane" was!! I'd heard that name so many times but just never know that was MOM!!! LOL
That is too funny. I love the things kids come out with. I'll never forget one day my daughter just called out "Lisa"...can I have a drink? It was so funny to hear her even say my name.
Hello! My name is Paula Burckhard. I am married to Kevin and have five children: Elizabeth (17), Samuel (14), Grace (11 w/Down syndrome), Bella (6 w/Down syndrome adopted from Ukraine 2009); and Nole' (4 w/Down syndrome adopted from Serbia 2011) We are a family that loves God and desires to bring him Glory in all we do.
Nole' (listed as Nathan) Came Home on March 2, 2011 from Serbia!
Bella Bogdana Burckhard
This "beautiful gift from God" has been given to us through the miracle of adoption. She became part of our family in August 2009. We are excited to see how God will use this Ukrainian princess for his glory!
