"To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." Isaiah 61:3

Please Pray for our City.....

Would you please pray for our community? We live in Minot, North Dakota, and are facing a catastrophic flood. The Souris River, aka Mouse River, is projected to flood the whole river valley & beyond by Thursday evening or Friday morning. This flood will be about 9 feet higher than the flood in 1969, if any of you remember that.

Our local news station is doing an AWESOME job reporting 24/7. If you'd like to keep up with the flood coverage, you can go to their FB page and watch live coverage, a river webcam, and even look at the wall to see how the community has come together in amazing ways to help one another:

Although our house is not directly affected, many of our friends and family are having to evacuate their homes. And, a catastrophe such as this will affect our community for years to come. As our Mayor said yesterday during a press conference, "It is a sad day in Minot."

My prayer for us is from Romans 15:13...."May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Love, Paula

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to Daddy and Grandpa! Both exemplify what it means to be a great Dad!

To celebrate, we all spent the day out at the Cabin.

We had a cookout and yummy DQ cake...
Nole' loved his ice cream....

AND, he LOVED his first "boat" ride....

Happy Father's Day, Daddy & Grandpa....We love you!

Day 6....Six Flags Fiesta Texas.....

Day 6 was a fun-filled day at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It was HOT that day. 103 degrees! We melted! Thank goodness for misting stations....AND shows in air-conditioned theaters.....
At one point, we lost Bella....thank goodness for the matching yellow t-shirts once again! A kind stranger pointed us in the right direction....we found her a couple blocks down from the theater we just exited, calmly sitting in a red play car.

After that scare, the rest of the day was truly "Family Fun in the Sun!" Here we are.....

After a long day in the sun, can you possibly guess how we spent the evening? If you guessed swimming, you are the winner!

Day 4....Padre Island

I realize this is like watching someone's vacation slides, but these photos and record of activity are more for me than anyone. I have never been one to have a journal, scrapbook or even have a photo album. So this is finally my way of having a scrapbook of sorts!

That aside, Day 4 brought us to Padre Island. We drove three hours, got into the public beach parking lot, and unloaded everything & everyone....and at the instant it poured! We loaded back up and went to the gift shops to browse for a bit and wait for the sand to dry out.

Finally, after renting a cabana, we settled in for a weenie roast and then swimming. Thank goodness we all wore our matching yellow Family Fun t-shirts because we lost Grace! After a panic-filled search, she was found....in the men's changing rooms! Now we can laugh about it, but it was scary at the time! At least we knew she wasn't swept away by the waves as she wouldn't even get close to the water until the end of the day.

It was definitely a Fun Family Day in the Sun! AND, when we got home, we didn't go swimming.... :)
