Would you please pray for our community? We live in Minot, North Dakota, and are facing a catastrophic flood. The Souris River, aka Mouse River, is projected to flood the whole river valley & beyond by Thursday evening or Friday morning. This flood will be about 9 feet higher than the flood in 1969, if any of you remember that.
Our local news station is doing an AWESOME job reporting 24/7. If you'd like to keep up with the flood coverage, you can go to their FB page and watch live coverage, a river webcam, and even look at the wall to see how the community has come together in amazing ways to help one another:

Although our house is not directly affected, many of our friends and family are having to evacuate their homes. And, a catastrophe such as this will affect our community for years to come. As our Mayor said yesterday during a press conference, "It is a sad day in Minot."
My prayer for us is from Romans 15:13...."May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Love, Paula

Paula, thank you so much for posting this! I had not realized it had gotten so out of hand! I lived in Minot 15 yrs & all my children were born there. Tonight I'm checking on my friends & family & sending up prayers for the entire community.

So glad to here you are all safe. I've been thinking of you. I only know 2 families in Minot and I'm thankful you are both ok. At times I'm glued to the TV watching updates. I hate water where it doesn't belong...HUGE phobia. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteJust checking in to see how you are doing. I've been praying and thinking of you often. I've been following the news, too. One of our neighboring towns is Minot, ME. It makes it seem more real and scary! Praying you are all safe and well.
ReplyDeleteI didn't fully realize your family was in Minot. Chuck lived there for a (very) short time while in college. I went to the link and was stunned by the photos. You - and the people in Minot - will definitely be in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Nole!! Blessings to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI am very happy to read, that all are safe. I have been praying for your family. I watch this updated news from current news.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers, sweet friends! Please continue to lift Minot up in prayer; the hard part is just starting now....
ReplyDeletePhillips family....would you email me? I would love to 'talk' with you about little Nole'!
