Mr. Erickson writes Sam's favorite book series--Hank the Cowdog. Mr. Erickson put on a school assembly for the students in Velva. His former 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Anderson, loves Hank almost as much as Sam. So she called the Velva school and asked if she could bring her class out there. Sam, even though he's a 5th grader, was invited to go on the field trip with the 4th grade class. He was very excited and brought a book to get Mr. Erickson's autograph.
Last year, every single book report Sam did was on Hank the Cowdog. If you haven't read any of these books, check them out. They are hilarious!
